I've been reading the back posts and look forward to the awesome discussions that will be held here. Um...here's a question I've got to start us off. Toward the end of the book (I think it was the night that she killed Adam?), Flan is in bed with Gabriel and bites his shoulder, hard. The next morning when she wakes up, she's the one with the rip in the shoulder of her shirt. How did that happen? Did she end up wearing his shirt? That's the only explanation I can think of, 'cause I'm pretty sure that Gabriel's real...right? Wait, that can't be right...here are the lines. Let me know what you think.
First, p. 275: "Tasting Gabriel's shoulder, biting down on it."
Next page: "I thought it was sarcasm but when I looked down at myself it was genuine concern; I was wearing my plain white T-shirt with a small flower embroidered on it, wrinkled and with a new tear on the shoulder like someone had bitten it."
Anyone have an explanation? Or am I just reading too much into this? (sorry, I have a tendency to do that...)
